Collaboration with overseas partners has been central to Fiona’s work. From 2009 to 2011 the support of the Romanian Cultural Institute enabled her to go to Romania to research the origins and context of material originating from Romania, as did generous help from the Romanian Cultural Centre. Individuals and institutions in Asia have also been key to the interpretation and understanding of art works from Asian cultures. The Daiwa Anglo-Japanese Foundation supported collaboration with institutions in Japan, and the British Council supported liaison with institutions in India. A Jonathan Ruffer curatorial grant enabled collaborations in Java and in Sardinia. Most recently, a collaboration with the Naprstek Museum, part of the Czech National Museum in Prague, has been central in ongoing research in Indonesia and Myanmar.
